Edna Ruth Burrell, age 91, of Maryville, passed away Monday, June 25, 2012, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Edna and her late husband Charlie Burrell owned and operated a small community store in the Six Mile community, Kagley’s Grocery, since 1947. Edna will be greatly missed by many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Burrell; parents, Len and Nora Kagley; brothers and sisters-in-law, Herman and Ella Kagley and Cecil and Louise Kagley; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathleen and Raymond Thompson, Margaret and J. E. Crowder, Charles Powell, and Lawrence “Shorty” Best. She is survived by her sisters and brother-in-law, Charlotte Powell, Jeanette Best, and Juanita and Charles Welshan; and many nieces and nephews who will miss her deeply. The family would like to thank everyone for all your thoughts and prayers during this time. Also a big thank you to all family members who volunteered their time to take care of Edna in order to make her last days here as restful as could be. Special thanks to the following nieces and nephew, Wanelle Chapman, Janet Blair, Lesa Stevens, and David Welshan.
